Building Services Engineer Location: Dublin Salary: €65,000 €85,000 + Vehicle / Allowance + Premium Package (DOE) Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Role Overview A leading Tier-1 Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer to manage the coordination, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical (M&E) packages for high-value commercial, pharmaceutical, and data centre developments across Dublin. Acting as the primary technical link on-site, you will oversee specialist M&E subcontractors, drive design team liaisons, and ensure all services installations are executed in strict alignment with architectural plans, technical specifications, and construction programmes. Key Responsibilities M&E Coordination: Lead the on-site coordination of complex mechanical, electrical, and HVAC building services, ensuring seamless integration between structural builds and services packages. Design & Drawing Review: Review and validate technical submittals, construction drawings, and 3D BIM models (Navisworks/Revit) to identify spatial clashes and resolve design queries before installation. Subcontractor Management: Supervise specialist M&E subcontractors, monitoring progress against project schedules, verifying installation quality, and signing off on completed work packages. Technical Problem Solving: Manage the Request for Information (RFI) log, addressing technical engineering queries on-site and coordinating with design consultants to implement efficient solutions. Commissioning & Handover: Manage pre-commissioning checks, system testing, and final validation workflows to compile complete Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and secure client handover sign-off. Quality & Safety: Ensure all building services installations conform to current building regulations, health and safety parameters, and site-specific RAMS. Requirements Experience: Minimum 36+ years operating as a Building Services Engineer, M&E Coordinator, or Mechanical/Electrical Site Engineer. Sector Exposure: Proven track record working with a main contractor or tier-1 mechanical/electrical subcontractor on large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, or data centre developments. Education: Degree or Diploma in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a time-served mechanical/electrical trade background with extensive site engineering experience. Technical Skills: Complete proficiency in interpreting piping isometrics, electrical schematics, and P&IDs, alongside experience utilizing BIM/AutoCAD coordination software.
