Setting Out Engineer Connaught

Overview

We are recruiting experienced Setting Out Engineers based in Connaught.

Responsibilities

Carry out setting out and surveying for civil engineering, structural, and building works.

Ensure all works are set out in accordance with design drawings and specifications.

Check and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information.

Record as-built information for quality assurance and handover documentation.

Liaise with the site management team, subcontractors, and design team to resolve technical issues.

Maintain daily site records, including site diaries and quality control checks.

Ensure works comply with health & safety requirements and company policies.

Assist with preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation.

Monitor materials, plant, and workmanship for compliance with specifications.

Support measurement and reporting of progress against programme.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of setting out techniques, equipment (total station, GPS, laser levels), and software.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with site teams and subcontractors.

Organised with ability to manage workload and priorities under pressure.

Awareness of health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree / HND / HNC in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 2 years experience as a Setting Out Engineer in civil engineering or construction projects.

Full EU driving licence.
