Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Product Owner with a keen delivery mindset to join our team and be part of a major core banking project.

The role involves managing and optimizing the product backlog to maximize the value of the product / services delivered.

This is a senior-level role that requires managing cross-functional squads as well as delivery.

We're looking for someone who will :

Be the primary point of contact for various stakeholders, representing the Project team and identifying requirements for the development team.

Create and prioritize a product backlog aligned with the Project vision and goals, refining it based on feedback and changing business needs.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, design leads, quality assurance) to ensure that the product / service meets customer needs and is delivered on time and within budget.

Ensure backlog items are clearly defined, well understood, and properly estimated by the development team.

Continuously monitor the product's performance, gather feedback from customers and stakeholders, and use data-driven insights to inform decisions and prioritize improvements.

Keep the Delivery Squad focused on deliverables for each sprint and maintain focus across sprints.

Collaborate with Delivery leads, other product owners, and Design leads to deliver committed backlog items across sprints.

Improve the squad's delivery capacity by analyzing key concern areas during retrospectives and providing timely support to squad members.

Establish a vision and roadmap for the delivery of requirements.

You will need to demonstrate that :

You demonstrate leadership and ownership of the product / project, inspiring others to share and contribute to the vision and goals.

You can monitor project and squad performance, gather feedback, and respond with continuous improvements.

You use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and prioritize future enhancements.

You can make tough decisions on feature inclusion in sprints or releases based on value to business needs.

You work closely with Scrum Masters and squads to resolve challenges and remove impediments.

You are a professional with strong commercial acumen, aligning with project and business strategies and goals.

Experience and skills required :

15+ years of overall experience with at least 5+ years as a Product Owner, Delivery Manager, or Delivery Lead.

Agile / Scrum Certification (CSPO / PSPO / SafePO / PM) preferred.

Extensive experience managing Product Backlogs and development teams / squads.

Track record of delivering complex projects through agile processes.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Background in Financial Services / Banking in Ireland / UK markets is an advantage.

Experience with Core banking applications is an advantage.
