Head Green Keeper

Reporting to the Greens Convenor the Head Green Keeper is entrusted with overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and operations of the golf course and course maintenance team.

For all matters relating to the agronomic plan and implementation of same, you will report to the Regional Superintendent at Carr Golf.

You will be responsible for implementing the agronomic plan for the course according to the guidelines set out by the Carr Golfs Regional Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities Plan and monitor the work of the golf course maintenance team in accordance with the Carr Golf Guidelines for Standards and Presentation.

Plan all maintenance tasks to achieve the objectives set out in the agronomic programme.

Weekly plans to be issued by Friday each week.

Keep accurate and complete records on the IT system in place in the Club.

Communicate regularly with the team at Carr Golf to discuss activities, goals, plans and member / golfer input.

Oversee the scheduling and routing of personnel and equipment to accomplish the work identified in the agronomic plan, weekly plans and weekly task lists.

The Head Green Keeper will communicate any course issues to the Regional Superintendent Maintain a healthy and safe workplace in accordance with the Clubs and Carr Golfs guidelines.

Train equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment.

Any issues should be recorded and reported to the Head of Plant & Machinery Maintenance Supervise pesticide and fertiliser applications and / or operate and calibrate pesticide and fertiliser application equipment.

Supervise and participate in the tree management program Manage the stock held at the Golf Club, receiving, checking and recording deliveries, storing in the correct location and ensuring storage areas are secure at all times.

Supervise and participate in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.

Liaise with the Greens Convenor and office personnel regarding leave for members of the team including annual leave, sick leave and any other forms of leave Liaise with the Greens Convenor and staff in the professional shop regarding tee sheet management, upcoming events and other inter departmental issues
