Head of Technology and Cybersecurity Organization : A leading legal body (New organization) Location : Dublin, Ireland About the Role We are seeking a visionary and hands-onHead of Technology and Cybersecurity to lead the technology function of a new, leading legal body. This is a unique opportunity to build the technology and cybersecurity strategy from the ground up. You will be responsible for defining and implementing our entire technology stack, with a primary focus on security, while also building a high-performing internal team. The role requires a blend of strategic leadership, deep technical expertise, and a passion for mentoring. You will work closely with external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) while concurrently building our in-house capabilities. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the overall technology and cybersecurity strategy aligned with the organization's mission and growth. This includes defining our technology roadmap, selecting key systems and tools, and ensuring all technology decisions support our long-term goals. Cybersecurity & Governance : Establish and mature the organization's cybersecurity posture from day one. This includes developing robust security policies, implementing controls, and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and legal regulations. You will be the internal subject matter expert on all things cybersecurity. Team Building & Mentorship : Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of our new technology team. A significant part of this role is to act as a mentor, coaching and developing the technical skills of your team members. You will foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Operational Management : Oversee the day-to-day operations of our technology infrastructure, including network, systems, and applications. A key part of this role is managing and building strong relationships with our external MSPs to ensure seamless service delivery while strategically insourcing capabilities over time. Technical Expertise : Serve as a hands-on technical leader, capable of providing guidance and troubleshooting when necessary. You will need to maintain a strong understanding of current and emerging technologies to make informed decisions and guide your team effectively. Stakeholder Management : Work closely with senior leadership and various departments to understand their technology needs, manage expectations, and communicate the value and security of our technology initiatives. Qualifications and Experience A minimum of10 years of experience in IT, with minimum 6 years experience in a senior leadership or management role, preferably in a regulated environment. Proven experience in building and leading technology teams. Deep expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, best practices, and incident response. Experience in managing and overseeing external MSPs. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong strategic planning and execution abilities. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or other cybersecurity credentials.
