Job Title : Buyer Location : Rathcoole, Dublin Job Overview : We are seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer to join our team in our Rathcoole offices. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing products, liaising with freight forwarders, conducting cost analysis, and managing the forecasting of purchases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, with the ability to efficiently handle customer and supplier queries, ensuring a smooth and cost-effective supply chain. Key Responsibilities : Sourcing and Purchasing : Manage the procurement process for products, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisitions to meet with demand. Liaison with Freight Forwarders : Collaborate with freight forwarders to coordinate shipments, track orders, and resolve any shipping-related issues, ensuring a seamless supply chain. Cost Analysis and Budgeting : Conduct detailed cost analysis to assess supplier pricing and product margins. Ensure the best value for money while maintaining quality standards. Forecasting : Develop and maintain accurate purchasing forecasts based on historical data, sales trends, and customer requirements to ensure inventory levels are consistently optimized. Customer and Supplier Queries : Respond to both customer and supplier inquiries promptly, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Negotiation : Work closely with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards. Inventory Management : Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure that products are always available without overstocking. Market Research : Stay updated on industry trends, new confectionery products, and market pricing to ensure competitive purchasing. Required Qualifications and Skills : Experience : Minimum of 2 years in procurement, with a focus on confectionery or food products. Software Proficiency : Familiarity with procurement software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and forecasting. Desirable Attributes : A passion for confectionery and snacking products. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
