Controllership - VAT Operations Manager
The VAT Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution and delivery of VAT Compliance across Europe as well as working across our APAC and Latam CoE. A key component of the role will be to manage relationships and collaborate with other teams within Controllership Operations and Tax and ensure the overall smooth running of the Indirect Tax Centre of Value.
Responsibilities :
Oversee the compilation of the VAT returns, Intrastat, EC Sales filings & any other VAT related required filings for a range of entities in line with local and EU VAT legislation
Compliance with EU 8th Council Directive and 13th VAT directive and owner of relationship with external vendor.
Presentation of technical memos for VAT positions as required
Oversight of the monthly VAT requirements postings, reconciliations
Monitor VAT developments that may have an impact on the Company
Responsible for preparing the monthly metrics and KPI for Leadership
Ensure resourcing is effectively deployed to meet objectives
Developing the relationship with both Country Controllers and Global tax Group.
Ensure integrity and completeness of financial records and internal financial controls
Manage key projects impacting VAT and assess impact on technology and process
Manage the relationship with external advisors or authorities answering queries & providing data as required.
Drive continuous process and business operations improvement initiatives across our Indirect Tax CoE
Support and coach the team in preparing accurate, complete and timely VAT returns ensuring adequate succession planning is in place to sustain the long-term performance of the team
Handle escalated queries and build strong team knowledge
Skills :
Knowledge of Accounting & VAT standards
Demonstrated leadership with ability to coach and motivate team
Strong oral and written communication
The ability to interpret and understand financial and business information and make the associated recommendations for action
First class numerical and technical analysis skills
Positive attitude and flexible
Sense of responsibility, initiative and high quality work standard
Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise

Experience of working with SAP an advantage
Qualifications and Experience :
Qualified Tax professional, 10 years post qualification experience
Detailed knowledge of legislation and current tax Practices
