Accountant | Recently Qualified

Recently Qualified Accountant required for an Accountancy and Business Consultancy based in Galway .

Responsibilities :

Client Service & Accounts Preparation

Prepare and finalise annual financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Prepare income tax and corporation tax returns using ROS and practice software.

Prepare and review VAT returns, PAYE submissions, and management accounts where required.

Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and collect outstanding information in a professional manner.

Assist with the onboarding of new clients and ensure accurate setup on all systems.

Technical Development & Quality

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Irish accounting standards and Revenue compliance requirements.

Ensure that all work is completed accurately, on time, and in line with internal quality standards.

Practice Support

Assist with ad hoc queries, technical research, and partner-led advisory projects.

Contribute to improving internal processes and sharing learnings with junior team members.

Support senior accountants in mentoring trainees and reviewing basic-level work when appropriate.

Requirements :

ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified (or equivalent), ideally 1+ year post-qualification experience in Irish practice

Strong understanding of Irish GAAP, tax legislation, and Revenue processes

Experience using key accountancy software (. Surf, Sage, Relate, Thesaurus, ROS)

Familiarity with cloud accounting platforms (. Xero, AutoEntry, QuickBooks)

Exposure to specialist sectors such as medical, retail, or hospitality

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook

Excellent communication skills – confident in liaising directly with clients

Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple jobs in progress

High attention to detail and personal accountability for quality of work
