Daughters of Charity Community Services : Mini Bus Driver The Daughters of Charity Community Services (DoCCS), located at 9 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, is a community-based organisation providing a range of educational, training and social care services for children, young people and adults living in Dublins North Inner City. Our services are targeted to individuals and families experiencing socio-economic and educational disadvantage. The Henrietta Senior Citizens Service of the Daughters of Charity Community Services provides in-house meals, recreational and educational activities in a day service and outreach activities and meals on wheels for older people in the Dublin 1 / 7 north inner city catchment area. The particulars of the role are as follows : Contract : This is a full time permanent contract, following completion of a successful probation period. Hours of work : The successful candidate will work 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Annual Leave : The annual leave for the position is 23 days, with an additional 2 service days which will be scheduled with the Manager of the Service. Salary : The hourly rate for the position is €16.74. Description : To drive the mini bus of a community-based service to older persons in the Dublin 1 / 7 inner city area. Reporting to : Manager, Henrietta Senior Citizens Service, Daughters of Charity Community Services. Hours of work : 22.5 hours per week : 10 am to 2.30pm Monday Friday. Possibility of one afternoon an extra 1.5 hours for cleaning and upkeep Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Ethos To ensure the highest standards of professional care and practice are maintained at all times in the service, and that the ethos and values of the Daughters of Charity Community Services are adhered to in the development and delivery of the service. 2. Driving the vehicle To ensure that the vehicle is driven to the highest standard, safely and in line with CPC best practice. To inform the manager of any issues or incidents promptly. 3. Assisting clients To assist clients from their homes onto the bus and into the service. 4. Safety of passengers To ensure the safety of the passengers who are in your care. To ensure that the standards of both the organisation and the CPC are upheld. 5. Maintaining vehicle To keep vehicle clean and tidy, complete and record regular maintenance checks and report any issues to the manager promptly. Responsibility for the upkeep and cleaning of the minibus daily. To fill fuel tank as needed in line with Fuel card policy. 6. Maintaining client records To keep written records of client issues which are maintained in the management office. To ensure that the Manager is aware of any issues that presented during the course of your duties and to take instruction on how best to resolve issues. To keep these records in designated secure place and in line with GDPR policy 7. Delivering meals on wheels To deliver meals on wheels as instructed by the Manager of the service. To issue receipts upon delivery for monies paid / donations made. 8. Social Outings To accommodate the service in running social activities where necessary. 9. Teamwork To mentor and provide minibus training assistance to incoming staff, volunteers, Ts and StMCP CE workers in conjunction with manager 10.Communication To communicate important information regarding clients in line with policy, verbally and on mini bus phone in adherence to the DoCCS GDPR policy Infection prevention control training will be provided. The driver is required to wear a mask while driving and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
