Senior Software Engineer – Dublin, Ireland
Product Development and OperationsJob Description About You You are a smart, enthusiastic, and results-oriented senior software engineer looking to lead an agile product development team that builds secure, performant, reliable, and well-tested solutions for a complex domain.
You are highly collaborative, passionate about building high-quality software, and pride yourself on your ability to lead engineering teams to do the best work of their careers.
You understand how to mentor and coach others to solve hard engineering problems, but you also love to roll up your sleeves and hammer out well-crafted code.
You are excited to contribute to our industry-leading platform, our award-winning products, and the processes we use to build, deliver, and support our platform and products.
What You'll Do : Collaborate with platform and product stakeholders—such as Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering Managers—to define and groom backlogs and direct platform and product evolution.
Lead the design and delivery of complex features and services using agile methodologies with an emphasis on delivering functionality that is secure, performant, and reliable.
Motivate peers and more junior engineers to reach outstanding levels of software delivery
Mentor peers and more junior engineers in design, code, and software delivery best practice
Define new processes to support engineering excellence as well as highlight and patch gaps in existing processes, e.g.
research, champion, and implement new testing tools and techniques
Define organizational best practices and standards with senior engineers

What We're Looking For : Core Java expertise (five years' experience minimum in a professional engineering role)
History of outstanding software delivery
Proficiency in industry design patterns
Proven ability to lead the design of a complex feature or service with a small, empowered, cross-functional team
Expert in developing and delivering features using agile development practices (Scrum, TDD, pair programming, etc.
Practiced in continuous integration and continuous delivery and expert user of supporting build and code management tools (e.g.
GitHub, Jenkins, TeamCity, JUnit, Karate, TestCafe, JaCoCo, SonarQube)
Good working knowledge of other programming and scripting languages (Kotlin, Python, bash)
Capacity to quickly learn new technologies and understand their applications to engineering problems
Strong leadership skills : can motivate others, hold them accountable with compassion, and mentor them—both synchronously and asynchronously—in system design, code quality, and operational excellence
Experience designing and incrementally improving processes for continuous software delivery
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills
A desire to be hands-on in designing and writing code
Curiosity and an internal drive to learn and constantly improve
Experience creating web services (SOAP, REST)
Experience with cloud services a bonus, e.g.
AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
