DescriptionPurpose of the Role The Alders Unit is a specialist Child Sexual Abuse Assessment and Therapy Service.
The successful candidate will contribute to the overall management of the service and undertake clinical work.
The service is multidisciplinary, involving Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatry, and Psychotherapy professionals.
The Principal Psychologist will jointly manage these services, including managing referrals, allocations, group supervision, service development, and liaison with external agencies such as Tusla and An Garda Síochána.
The role also involves providing consultation, teaching, and training.
Qualifications and Experience Hold a recognised University Degree or Diploma with first or second class honours, majoring in Psychology.Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical / Counselling Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland, or a postgraduate qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children, with reference to relevant regulations and guidelines.Have at least 5 years of postgraduate experience in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, including three years in a senior capacity.Possess the knowledge, ability, and high standard of professional attainment required for the role.Experience working directly with children and their families, including assessment and therapy.Experience working in a multidisciplinary clinical setting with children aged 0-18 years and families.Relevant clinical experience with children and families affected by Child Sexual Abuse, and Child Protection and Welfare issues.How to Apply & Informal Enquiries Applicants must submit a cover letter illustrating how they meet the essential criteria, along with their CV.
