Purpose of the Role : To support the smooth administration within the Gastroenterology team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities : Provide administrative support to the department and clinical staff.
Handle telephone queries related to department functions.
Communicate with staff, the public, and outside agencies professionally and confidentially.
Coordinate with Consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
Manage correspondence with GPs and other hospitals in a timely manner.
Provide clinic cover when needed.
Manage medical charts and maintain office procedures.
Type, file, and organize departmental correspondence and documents.
Assist with data collection and presentation for research projects.
Use relevant computer packages efficiently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Process T Pro letters.
Qualifications & Experience : Must have : At least Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Or a comparable QQI qualification (e.g., Fetac Level 5).
Relevant experience demonstrating skills.
Two years of relevant administrative experience.
Proficiency in IT systems and packages.
Excellent command of English, spoken and written.
Desirable : Healthcare administrative experience.
Knowledge of managing wait lists.
Experience with T Pro, Med Modus, Clarity, Synergy systems.
Experience liaising with multidisciplinary teams.
Reward & Recognition : Salary in accordance with the Department of Health scales, from €35,256 to €54,370.
Permanent, full-time, pensionable position.
Annual leave as per hospital policy.
Work hours are 35 hours / week over 5 days, with flexibility for hours between 8 am and 8 pm, across 7 days.
