The Cables Civil Team provide expert services in the design and construction of high voltage transmission and distribution assets for the Networks Business.
Conceptual and detailed engineering design.Design safety management.Project programming and commercial managementIn this role, you'll oversee civil engineering services from feasibility through to the completion of electricity infrastructure projects for ESB.
You will provide expert technical advice and have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior staff.
Key Responsibilities Manage works packages for cable projects, including scoping, tendering, contract award, and construction management.Provide specialist civil engineering advice for underground cable projects.Identify HV cable route options and facilitate capital approval.Act as Lead Engineer, coordinating multi-disciplinary designs, interfacing with clients / stakeholders, and managing fees and programs.
Relevant training will be provided.Mentor and support junior staff development.Promote and actively participate in safety management cultureExperience and Qualifications Level 8 Engineering Degree or equivalentMinimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experienceHigh level of specialist expertise and strong technical capability in civil engineeringProven ability to manage significant projects or key aspects of projectsStrong commercial and project management skillsStrong safety awareness and communication skillsValid driver's license for ROI, access to a car, and flexibility to travel nationwideExperience in civil engineering or utility projectsFamiliarity with FIDIC Conditions of ContractExperience in performing PSDP role on projectsChartered status or working towards it in a recognized professional institutionLocation This position will be based in ESB Engineering and Major Project Office in Dublin.
