The Colas Group operates internationally in all aspects of transport infrastructure. As part of the global organisation, Colas Ireland is primarily involved the distribution of bitumen products, emulsion and emulsifier manufacturing, and the provision of specialist road maintenance services on the national, regional and local road network. In Ireland Colas operates from 14 locations across the island of Ireland.
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our Traffic Management business from the Dublin area on a full‑time basis. You will set the overall direction for the company, steer growth and performance across two depots (Dublin and Cork), and ensure excellent delivery of services to public and private clients. The role includes leadership of the senior management team, responsibility for financial and operational outcomes, and development of strong stakeholder relationships. An attractive remuneration package is offered, including salary, a company vehicle and additional benefits.
Main Responsibilities
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have Traffic Management experience, a full B driving licence, Solas SafePass and Solas CSCS SLG (3‑day), and a 3rd‑level management qualification or equivalent senior experience. Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills are required, along with flexibility, willingness to travel nationwide, and the ability to work independently or within teams. Candidates must be willing to undertake role‑specific training.
Desirable but not essential: Level 1 & 2 TTM Designer qualifications, Level 3 high‑speed training, and experience in all types of Traffic Management and minor civil engineering.
