Senior speech and language therapist

Medforce Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join the dynamic multidisciplinary team at in an acute hospital based in Waterford This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior role in an acute hospital setting, supporting adults with a range of complex communication and swallowing needs.

As a Senior SLT, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, providing leadership within the SLT team, and contributing to service development across the hospital.

Responsibilities of the Senior Speech and Language Therapist : Deliver a quality Speech and Language Therapy service to adult patients with communication and / or swallowing difficulties in an acute hospital setting.

Complete assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for inpatients.

Provide specialist input into the management of dysphagia / feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing disorders.

Work closely as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care.

Provide supervision and support to staff grade therapists and students.

Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements for the Senior Speech and Language Therapist : A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.

CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.

Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in the area of dysphagia / acute care.

Certification and competence in the management of dysphagia.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
