Care Assistant / Support Worker – Permanent, Part-time (19.5 Hours per Week)

Location : Fairview, Dublin 3 - Residential Roster

Salary : €33,556 – €42,034 (based on 39-hour week) + Premium Payments of up to €12,000 per annum pro rata

Upcoming Salary Increases : A recently approved sector-wide pay agreement will result in a cumulative 9.25% increase in basic salary over the next two years, further enhancing your salary progression.

About the Role

Are you looking for a role with a difference? We are currently looking to hire a Part-Time Care Assistant / Support Worker for one of our services in Fairview. This role is a waking-night position. The people we support in this location are older, yet ambulant and are interested in partaking in social activities and events within their neighbourhood and community.

As a professional working within the sector, you will be patient, understanding, and supportive. You will enjoy encouraging the people you support to progress at their own pace and according to their own needs. You will be innovative in your ideas and solutions in how to support an older population of people to live a meaningful life on their own terms.

As for the people you will be supporting, they are looking for a positive, fun, conscientious, and intuitive individual who will work in partnership with them to achieve and facilitate their goals and wishes. The person they are seeking will be outcome based, solution focused and sensitive to meeting their needs. The successful candidate will ensure people are supported with dignity and respect when providing support with intimate care / personal care.

It is a priority for the people you will be supporting that you maximise their opportunities to live a life that is reflective of their values. It is critical to think about dignity pathways from the person receiving support perspective. Dignity to the people receiving support means the kind of support provided, in any setting or circumstances which supports and promotes, the person’s right to privacy, autonomy and self-worth.

This is a residential part-time roster (Monday to Sunday). It includes weekend work over a 4-week rolling period.

Essential Qualifications :

  • FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Social Care OR
  • Qualification in Health or Social Science
  • Essential Criteria :

  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • At least one year of recent experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to promote independence in individuals with support needs.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
  • A thorough understanding of HIQA regulations.
  • Desirable Criteria :

  • Experience supporting individuals with ASD and knowledge of autism.
  • Experience in case management / key working.
