Job description

Main Purpose of Job : To assist in the organisation of the receptionist shift while on duty and to provide guests with an efficient and friendly welcome and departure.

Main Responsibilities :

Front Office Operations :

o   Assist in the smooth operation of the reception desk.

o   Welcome and acknowledge all guests in the reception and lobby area in a warm and friendly manner.

o   Deliver excellent customer service to all guests at all times.

o   Assist in the training and development of new team members.

o   Communicate hotel and city services to guests.

o   Balance all financial records and reports at the end of each shift.

o   Communicate effectively with the accommodation manager and supervisors regarding room availability and guest requirements.

o   Organise group luggage to and from bedrooms.

o   Take and deliver messages on behalf of guests and managers.

o   Maximise room revenue by offering best rates and upselling where possible.

o   Ensure floats are balanced at the end of all shifts.

o   Prepare rooming lists in conjunction with the reservations team.

o   Perform routine cleaning of designated areas as required.

Customer Service :

  • Provide efficient and friendly service to guests at all times.
  • Follow the hotel's key standards.
  • Provide a warm and friendly telephone service to guests.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and to a 4-star standard.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with both guests and colleagues.

Health and Safety :

  • Abide by the hotel's health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Report any health, safety, or environmental hazards within the hotel.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, and near misses while on duty.
  • Presentation and Grooming :

  • Wear the correct uniform and name badge at all times while on duty.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Other Duties :

  • Attend relevant training courses as required.
  • Serve on hotel committees when required.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by management.
  • Assist in other departments when necessary.
  • Contribute to the hotel's sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
  • The successful candidate will be required to have :

    o    Excellent customer care skills

    o    Experience from a similar style property

    o    Experience in working in Teams

    o    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    o    Ability to work on their own initiative

    o    Be available to work a mix of shift patterns

    Early 7am - 3pm,

    Middle 10am - 6pm or 11am - 7pm and

    Late 3pm - 11pm
