Outline : To provide an efficient and flexible operational team (Jury Minders) sufficient to meet the logistical demands of the Courts Service for any court that requires a jury and to ensure that the service is highly adaptable to changes in hours and other services required, akin to managing a complex, multi-day event schedule. This includes coordinating resources for a maximum of 16 Jury courts at any one time in the CCJ, plus managing deployment for Jury trials taking place outside of the CCJ which will also require Jury Minders to attend. Be the main point of contact with The Courts Service Jury Office Manager and Courts Service staff and be contactable at all core and non-core periods when scheduled trials (the "events") are being held, requiring constant stakeholder and resource management. Key Performance Indicators : To plan a staff schedule that will meet the program of jury courts and jury panels, and to adapt and vary the service as required during the legal term and recess when required Set out a code of standards for appearance and behavior in a team that will be highly visible and must support Jurors from all backgrounds Plan and prepare for additional requirements for Jury Minders to meet any variations of service Manage the performance and conduct within the team using an appropriate coaching style and occasional formal procedures as necessary Key Responsibilities : To plan a staff schedule that will meet the needs of courts jury service, and to adapt and vary the service as required during the legal term Devise and / or adapt a training program for Jury Minders to deliver of high standard of service in addition to having the skills necessary to support Health and safety, contingency plans for fire evacuation and security issues; with an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities and importance of the role of a Jury Minder Plan and prepare for additional requirements for Jury Minders to meet any variations of service Provide regular briefings to the Jury Minding team as requirements change and ensure that other parts of the wider team are kept informed of changes Set out a code of standards for appearance and behavior in a team that will be highly visible and must support Jurors from all backgrounds Establish and agree KPIs for reporting and monitoring service standards Manage the performance and conduct within the team using an appropriate coaching style and company procedures as necessary Assist HR with recruitment of Jury Minders as required Generation and provision of accurate billing information, management reports and statistics Liaise with Courts Service Jury Office Manager and staff in relation to all matters including advanced planning of Jury minders needs. Assign Jury Minders to Circuit and Central Court trials as trials are called and ensure sufficient Jury Minders are available for Jury Call over as it progresses. Ensure an appropriate deputy Jury Minder is appointed in the Jury Minding Managers absence. Develop and maintain an effective working relationship so that the clients needs are understood. Arrange for all catering for juries on request and authorisation from Courts Service. Work in accordance with all relevant ISO standards & G4S Company Guiding Statements. Complete other tasks as necessary by management from time to time. Competencies : Ability demonstrated to lead a team in a formal setting where standards will be visible to the service users and members of the public, and detail in planning is required. Experience with managing a team in a changeable environment Strong financial acumen including budget management Ability to communicate information effectively at all level Ability to prioritise, plan and manage his / her own time in accordance with assigned workloads and to work out the ramifications of changes, possibly at very short notice Good all-round people skills with the ability to adapt those skill sets within an active environment and deal with conflicting demands Good administrative and organisational skills.
