Assistant Production Manager

I am recruiting on behalf of our client in West Cork for a Production Assistant Manager to support team development and drive process improvement within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support production teams across shifts to ensure smooth daily operations

Assist the Production Manager in achieving key performance targets

Identify and implement practical process improvements

Develop team capability through coaching and on-the-job training

Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards

Handle day-to-day staff queries and escalate issues where needed

Contribute to planning, audits, and cross-functional meetings

Ideal Candidate

Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within food manufacturing

Strong leadership and team engagement skills

Good understanding of factory operations and production processes

Proven track record of driving improvement initiatives

Excellent communication skills and a hands-on approach
