Commis Chef

The Galway Bay Hotel is seeking to recruit aCommis Chef to join our busy Kitchen team.

The Chef will work alongside the Executive Head Chef, supporting the kitchen team in providing excellent quality food, ensuring menus and food are presented to the highest possible standard in line with Company SOPs.

Responsibilities : Contribute to the production of food items according to menu specificationsBe aware of and prepared for the business in house every dayBe familiar with the menu and with any "specials" of the day.Ensure all dishes are prepared to agreed standardsEnsure all dishes leaving the kitchen are prepared and presented to agreed standards.Avoid unnecessary wastage and follow portion planning and control and to act in a cost effective, responsible manner.Ensure excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.Follow and adhere to HACCP compliance within the kitchen and all Food & Beverage outlets.Ensure the kitchen equipment is in working order; report any maintenance issues to your supervisorManage stock control and place orders.Lead and support team members to ensure the kitchen always exceeds guest expectations by consistently producing quality food.The successful candidate should possess the following : 1 years similar experiencePossess a solid knowledge of Restaurant Fine Dining and BanquetingAbility to work in a busy environmentHave a strong knowledge of HACCPWhy work with us?
