Avista is a progressive organisation, providing a wide range of services including Day, Residential and Respite supports to both Children and Adults in various locations across 3 Regions.

The organisation is looking for Candidates who are committed to supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities and their families, in a Person Centred, Community Based, Socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, best practice and research.

FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

RELIEF CONTRACT

CHILDREN'S SERVICES, DUBLIN

Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro-rated for hours of work.

The Children and Young People's Service within Avista provide interdisciplinary team supports, residential, family support and education services to 0-18 year old Children and Young People with complex needs and their families.

The candidates are also required to work in partnership with families within a family centred model.

FETAC Level 5 / QQI in Healthcare / Social Care / Early Childhood / or a related discipline, or be in pursuit of same.

Previous experience in the area of intellectual disabilities is desirable.

Ability to effectively manage their time; work on their own initiative.

Ability to be flexible and creative.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Be committed to promoting the active engagement and participation of individuals in their local communities.

Be person centred in approach to enabling individuals to maximise their independence and develop meaningful roles in society.

Be available to work evenings and weekends.
