Position : Care Assistant / Support Worker Location : OGorman Home About OGorman Home OGorman Home provides compassionate and professional care to people over the age of 65 with low to medium dependency needs. We offer a range of services including long-term care, short-term stays, respite care, and day care support. Our goal is to promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for every resident and service user. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality personal care and assistance with daily living activities (e.g., mobility, hygiene, dressing, eating). Support residents in maintaining independence and social engagement. Assist with mealtimes, ensuring nutritional needs and preferences are met. Monitor and record residents wellbeing, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff. Participate in the development and implementation of individual care plans. Create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents. Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and families. Uphold the values and ethos of OGorman Home, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. Skills & Qualities Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well within a team and independently. Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility. Willingness to undertake relevant training. Requirements Previous experience in a care setting (desirable but not essential training will be provided). A genuine interest in working with older people. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings. Relevant care qualifications (QQI / FETAC Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent) desirable.
