Job Description

As a Hydraulic Engineer, you will join one of Ireland's largest Water and Geoenvironmental teams, where our specialists work on a wide range of important projects across the country.
Our dedicated team are at the forefront of innovative solutions to some of Ireland\'s most pressing environmental challenges.
Join our team as a Hydraulic Engineer, where you will support several ongoing Irish projects through desk-based analytical, report writing, management and field-based investigation work.
This exciting role will be focussed on fish passage improvement, river restoration, flood management, drainage design and hydraulic modelling, and will involve travel in Ireland and occasional overnight stays.
The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic, capable of working both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities :
Plan and implement hydraulic and hydrologic projects.
Conduct analyses of hydraulic scenarios related to flooding, drainage and fish passage.
Prepare contract documents for site investigations (technical specifications and bills of quantities).
Interpret collected data and report on same through hydraulic models.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors and colleagues to contribute to efficient project execution.
Support colleagues such as geologists or environmental scientists with defining and implementing best practices on projects.
Contribute to the acquisition of new projects through proposals and collaboration with colleagues.
Contribute to and always work within health and safety guidelines and regulations.
What we're looking for in you :
A degree to preferably MSc level in Civil Engineering or related.
A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in hydraulic engineering or related projects.
Design experience on hydraulic engineering projects.
Analytical and innovative thinking, ability to creatively solve problems,and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, meet frequent deadlines, and assist with multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent spoken and written English with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience of the role requirements above.
Full, clean driving licence.
Ideally, you will also possess :
Fluency - MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Familiarity with the use of AutoCAD and GIS software
Experience with hydraulic and / or hydrological modelling e.g. HEC-RAS.
Knowledge of the design and implementation of fish passage improvement projects.
Experience of different stages of project delivery.
