DBFL Consulting Engineers are currently seeking to recruit Traffic and Transportation Professionals with 1-4 years' experience.
Our ever-increasing project portfolio and successful positioning on frameworks with local authorities, the National Transport Authority & Transport Infrastructure Ireland has generated positions in our offices in Dublin, Cork & Waterford.
We have a significant and expanding workload in the traffic and transportation engineering sector.
Current projects include :
The development and preparation of Transport Strategies / ABTAs for large towns and Local Areas
Leading multidisciplinary design teams and partners in developing transport networks for new towns, residential & commercial developments in accordance with DMURS
The design & appraisal of Active Travel schemes (walking & cycling) in urban and rural environments including greenways (preliminary and detailed)
The design of a number of significant bus priority schemes (preliminary and detailed design)
The design of various traffic management schemes (including environmental improvement and traffic calming schemes of towns and villages)
Providing assistance / advice to other departments in DBFL (roads / highway design, street network design in accordance with DMURS, car park design, service access strategies)
Providing transport related advice and services to support high profile clients in the development of large residential, commercial and educational developments including the development of major new towns and Strategic Development Zones
Key roles and responsibilities :
Reporting to a Team Leader, successful candidates pending experience will display the following key traits and skills :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong numerical skills and problem-solving abilities
Display a good understanding of design principles, national / local authority standards, technical guidance documents such as DMURS, DMRB, TII SRW, NTA CDM etc
Good planning and organisational skills
Desired qualifications and requirements :
At least 1 year traffic and transport experience
Good written and verbal communication skills
A relevant engineering / planning degree
Ideally hold a relevant postgraduate degree
Have knowledge of current transport policies and design standards such as DMURS / Cycle Design Manual
Knowledge of traffic modelling software
Experience in ArcGIS is also beneficial
A current driver's licence is desirable
