We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Senior Buyer to join our high performing Procurement team.

Reporting
REPORTING TO : Group Procurement Manager
Purpose of Role
To lead the co-ordination and sourcing of plant and materials purchased directly by Flynn, ensuring best value, quality, and timely delivery for projects.
Role Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers.
Issue RFQ / Tenders for materials to supply chain.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant legal, safety and sustainability standards.
Collaborate closely with site management, commercial teams and other departments to understand procurement needs well in advance.
Take the lead role for larger material requests across Ireland and UK – placing orders and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure no downtime occurs.
Heavily focused on materials, their uses and being able to offer alternatives to make savings.
Mentor procurement team members.
Assisting project teams with submittal processes.
Deal with day-to-day queries regarding fleet to include updating fleet register and issuing to finance dept monthly to allow accurate costing.
Ensuring Fleet asset register is always up to date to include accurate mileage readings.
Invoice Approvals – seeking clarifications from supply chain / site management where needed and following through to resolve, ensuring all suppliers are paid in line with agreements.
Ensure supplier accounts do not go on hold because of aging invoice(s).
Assist Manager with preparing monthly director report.
Issuing monthly consumable costing to finance dept to allow correct job costings.
The Candidate
Excellent Knowledge of construction materials and their uses.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing role with a main contractor or 3 years' experience within a builder's providers with exposure to building materials.
Knowledge of construction industry required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent IT Skills essential.
– Excel, MS Word.
Business or Construction qualification is preferred but not a requirement.
Previous experience with accounting systems and reporting from same.
Ability to be a team player and to be able to mentor others.
