Yard operative / van driver

Role : Yard Operative / Van Driver Salary : €30,000-€32,000 Location : Ballymount Duration : Full time. Hours : Monday-Friday Yard Operative / Van Driver Well-established building provider is actively seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join their team in Dublin South. This full-time, permanent position offers Monday to Friday working hours, along with a requirement to work every second Saturdaycompensated at competitive overtime rates. You, you must hold a valid counterbalance forklift certificate and possess a clean EU B drivers license. You will be part of an established team in supporting yard operations, your daily duties will include operating the counterbalance forklift to load vehicles for dispatch, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and hazard-free yard environment. Beyond your work in the yard, you will support the trade counter team by engaging directly with customersboth professional tradespeople and members of the public. Due to the nature of the role, this role involves operating the company van to carry out deliveries and collections throughout the Dublin area. You will be comfortable engaging with customers and can represent the company in a professional manner. Responsibilities : Operate the forklifts to load and unload customer goods. Pick and pack material for customers on site and for collections. Take part in daily tasks such as assisting with customers on-site , process transactions and handle queries. Maintain a clean organised and safe working environment by adhering to the companys stringent health and safety policies. Assist with daily yard operations such as managing returns, assist with replenishing stock and storing goods to the correct locations. Operate the company van for collections and deliveries throughout the Dublin area. Requirements : Possession of a full, clean Category B driving licence with professional van driving experience. Up-to-date counterbalance forklift licence with recent, hands-on operating experience preferred. Demonstrated success in a dual-function logistics role involving both yard duties and delivery driving. Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines. Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks in line with safety standards. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong focus on health and safety compliance. Basic IT skills for using warehouse systems, handheld scanners, and delivery tracking tools. Flexibility to adapt to changing delivery schedules or warehouse priorities as needed.
