Job Title : In-House Residential Worker (Caretaker, Support Role) Location : Dublin 1 and Dublin 7 (two sites : Family Unit & Single Mens Unit) Hours and Pay : We are seeking to fill a full-time employment position. This requires between 12 to 14 days of 12-hour shifts per month at a pay rate of €14 an hour. Hours are flexible upon staff requests. Company Overview : We are a private emergency accommodation service contracted to provide safe, temporary housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Our service operates across two properties : one accommodating families, and another accommodating single men. We are committed to providing a respectful, safe, and supportive environment for all residents. Role Overview : We are seeking someone who is reliable and professional to join our team work as a residential caretaker. This is a lone worker role involving 12-hour shifts (both day and night). The position requires maintaining a safe and secure environment by monitoring CCTV, managing access to the building, supporting service users in line with official guidelines, and ensuring all incidents are accurately logged and reported. Key Responsibilities : Monitor CCTV across all common areas to ensure house and council guidelines are upheld. Engage respectfully and professionally with service users, visitors, and support workers. Address breaches of house guidelines where appropriate, including issuing notices. Maintain accurate and detailed logbook records of interactions, incidents, and observations. Control access to the property, ensuring only authorised individuals enter. Contact management for guidance, urgent issues, or support as required. Uphold health and safety standards at all times. Requirements : Previous experience in residential support, security, social care, or related roles is desirable but not essential (training will be provided). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Comfortable working alone and taking responsibility for decision-making when needed. Reliable, organised, and able to follow reporting procedures. Flexibility to work across both sites and adapt to day / night shift patterns. Proficiency in the English is necessary for communicating effectively with service users. Ability to work independently and take initiative while following procedures. A respectful, supportive approach when engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness. Flexible availability for both day and night shifts across two sites. Desirable : Experience in residential care, homelessness services, social care, or a related field; relevant qualifications (e.g. social care, youth work, addiction studies).
