This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Intervention Specialist to work as a member of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with MDT colleagues providing services to children from 0-10 years and families who are accessing the Children's Disability Network Team.
The Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) provides a family and child centred, home and community based early intervention service.
They offer a key working, routines-based model, combining specific, holistic and outcome focused interventions with measurable outcomes for children aged from birth to six years, with or at risk of Developmental Delay / Intellectual Disability.
The EIS provides families and carers with a practical framework to support their child's learning and development, supporting transitions, participation and full inclusion in their community.
Continuous Professional Development Opportunities are supported, and professional clinical supervision will be provided.
The ability to manage and prioritize a busy caseload, and work in an inter-disciplinary way using a family centered practice approach are key requirements of the role.
Responsibilities / Role
The EIS works with families and MDT colleagues to deliver an integrated early intervention service.
Responsibilities include applying a routines-based, family centred approach, supporting transitions and inclusion, and providing practical strategies to promote learning and development in the child.
Collaboration within the multidisciplinary team and participation in ongoing service development are essential.
Qualifications
Degree in Early Childhood Education, R.N.I.D, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Social Work or other related discipline
5 years post qualification experience working with children with complex needs including Intellectual Disability, Autism and Physical Disability
Extensive knowledge and experience of early intervention programmes and delivery
Excellent communication and IT skills
Experience of working with families using a family focused approach
Experience of working within teams
Confidence in lone working
Flexible and adaptable
Good organisational skills
Presentation skills and experience of training delivery
Programme development and delivery skills
Salary and Conditions
Salary and qualifications are in accordance with Department of Health consolidated pay scales : Current Salary Scale : Senior Therapist Grade, €63,912-€75,254 incl LSI per annum.
