Perform Recruitment is currently seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Health and Safety Officer on behalf of our client.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and enforce environmental health and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs.
- Perform EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Deliver EHS training sessions to employees.
- Foster and instill a strong health and safety culture among all employees.
- Oversee daily EHS operations and tasks.
- Regularly review and revise company Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, Health & Safety Policies, and the Safety Statement.
- Stay informed about legislative updates and implement necessary changes.
- Implement and update EHS control measures as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits of the facility to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and training on safety procedures to all staff.
- Work closely with management to develop and execute risk management strategies.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills :
A Third Level Qualification in Health & Safety or a related field is required.At least 2 years of experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing setting is essential.Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.Demonstrated ability to promote continuous improvement.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Strong verbal, written, communication, and IT skills.Proficiency in conducting Health & Safety investigations.Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.Benefits :
