Director of Nursing - Suncroft, The Curragh, Kildare

We are seeking a new Director of Nursing for our Suncroft Lodge Nursing Home based just outside The Curragh in Co. Kildare. We are looking for a DON with prior experience of managing a c. 70 bed home who has excellent leadership qualities, a positive disposition, and strong clinical skills to work with and lead our fabulous team of Nurses, Carers, Catering, Housekeeping and Administration staff to deliver safe, person centred, high quality care to our lovely residents in the beautiful setting of Suncroft Lodge in line with HIQA standards and Health Act 2007 regulations.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills in order to be shortlisted for the role:

Professional Registration

• Must be a Registered Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in care of the older person.
• At least 3 years in a nursing management role, preferably within a nursing home or similar long-term care setting.

Education

• Hold a minimum Level 8 qualification (Ordinary Bachelor's Degree or higher) in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
• A postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management, Gerontology, Healthcare Leadership, or Healthcare Management is strongly preferred.

Skills

Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.

Demonstrated empathy, integrity, and respect in all interactions.

Confidence to lead in safeguarding, complaints handling, and incident investigation.
