West Cork Distillers was founded in 2003 by John O'Connell, Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy and has since grown to a team of 200 people based in our distillery in Skibbereen, Co. Cork and our Waterford site Donohoe Drinks. We are built on an entrepreneurial energy and a passion for the science and art of spirit and whiskey production.

We are looking for...

We are currently looking for an Inspection Operative to join our team in West Cork Distillers, Skibbereen.

As an Inspection Operative, you will play a key role in a new division within the Company, ensuring the quality and integrity of products by visually inspecting items on the production line.

Fluent English is required for this position to ensure that Health and Safety policies and procedures are fully understood and adhered to.

Remuneration :

The hourly rate for this position is €14.00 per hour, plus a 20% shift allowance which equates to a rate of €16.80 per hour including shift allowance.

Working Hours :

You will work Monday to Thursday, 6.00am to 6.00pm

What you'll do...

  • Visually inspect products on the conveyor line for defects, contamination, or damage and remove any non-conforming items.
  • Safely unload product cases from containers, ensuring correct handling and stacking to prevent damage.
  • Lift product cases onto the conveyor system and remove them at the end of the line
  • Follow company quality guidelines and report any recurring issues or product non-conformities to the supervisor promptly.
  • Keep the inspection and conveyor area clean, free of hazards, and in an audit-ready state at all times.
  • Adhere to all site health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and manual handling techniques.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure continuous line operation and meet production targets.

What you'll have..

  • Capability of manual handling and standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong observational skills to detect product defects quickly and accurately.
  • Previous experience in a production, warehouse or food manufacturing environment.
