Role overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as the Data Protection Officer for a new ticketing project in Ireland.

As part of our organisation, you will play a crucial role in all issues relating to the protection of personal data within the project . The DPO will be the main contact point both inside and outside the organisation with regards to all issues relating to the processing of personal data and manage the requirements of GDPR law . We require a subject matter expert to align our internal processes to create data champion policies and procedures to align with the key project milestones.

Purpose of position and responsibilities

Reporting to Country Director you will be a key member of the Irish branch transport team based at the Indra site in Dublin.

This is a newly created, stand-alone role working closely with various internal stakeholders including the Compliance Manager, the DPO will :

  • Play a crucial role in setting up data protection frameworks for the business
  • Align the business with compliance in Ireland
  • Act as the primary contact within and outside the organisation on all issues relating to the processing of personal data under relevant legislation;
  • Build, develop, maintain, and improve the data protection policies, procedures and processes
  • Monitor compliance with the GDPR as well as undertaking systematic data protection audits in accordance with GDPR and Data Protection legislation
  • Manage, coordinate and respond to all data protection and privacy-related queries and requests from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Continuous update of Project Plans for the Weekly Implementation Report.
  • Elaboration of ad-hoc excerpt of the Project Plan for specific Work stream leaders or Stakeholders
  • Support to the Implementation Service Manager and the two Project Manager in the monitoring of the different activities evolution.

Person specification

You will preferably have a Bachelor’s degree in law, compliance, information security, or a closely related field . A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is preferred . We are particularly interested in receiving your application if you have experience in any of the following areas :

  • At least 5 years in a similar data protection officer role, you may be working as part of a data protection team and looking to take a step up into a standalone role or looking to further develop in your career
  • A thorough knowledge of all things
  • Demonstrable experience in working alongside key business stakeholders with the ability to influence change
  • Experience in building out a data protection framework for a newly created business entity
  • Experience managing a Data Protection or Privacy Programme in a data protection environment
  • Experience in working on / delivering government contracts is desirable but not essential.
