Scala Developer

Location : Sandyford, Dublin 18

Work Style : Hybrid- 3 days onsite

Duration : 6-month initial contract

Rate : €450-€500 / day DOE

Role Summary

You'll be responsible for delivering on our strategic platforms — defining user requirements, estimating work, developing features with strong unit-test coverage, executing automated test suites, and collaborating with the team on deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with user groups and technical teams on design approach and delivery plans

Develop and deliver technical solutions

Mentor other members of the project team (if applicable)

Provide post-deployment support and guide best practices

Your Team

You'll be part of the Dublin team (~15 people), inside the Securities Trades Processing division (~200 people).

You'll work on a variety of projects, from multi-year programmes to shorter, discrete tasks.

You'll also collaborate across locations and with business stakeholders, as well as other dev teams.

Requirements

5+ years experience in Scala and functional programming concepts

Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code

Skilled in analysing, building, testing, and deploying both functional and non-functional changes according to Bank development & change management protocols

Experience working with business analysts, testers, and other stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver solutions

Commitment to continuously improving software quality and performance

Experience supporting deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications

Familiarity with Scaled Agile practices
