Position Description

Position : AVP, EMEA Tax Services

Department : Finance, Tax

Area of Interest : International Tax, Transfer Pricing & Dispute Resolution

Location : Western Europe

Basic Function :

The primary purpose of this newly created position on the EMEA Tax Services team, will be to assist with all transfer pricing planning and compliance obligations across EMEA including dispute resolution, tax audits, diverted profits tax and M&A. Reporting to the VP, EMEA Tax, the role also provides opportunities to work on a broad range of international tax matters, ad hoc consulting and special projects.

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance or law from an accredited college / university
  • Licensed CPA / CA / CTA or similar

Experience :

  • Minimum five years international tax experience in industry and / or in a public accounting firm
  • Insurance transfer pricing experience in EMEA (particularly Western Europe) is ideal
  • Ability to research and apply tax law to business transactions and strong project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing transfer pricing projects
  • Responsibilities :

  • Lead the continued development of the Company’s transfer pricing function
  • Lead the ongoing design and implementation of the Company’s transfer pricing strategy
  • Preparation and / or coordination of the Company’s non-US transfer pricing documentation
  • Have strategic input into tax and finance risk management with a focus on transfer pricing
  • Lead the design and implementation of the Company’s KERT analysis relating to allocation of profits to branch operations
  • Provide tax advice to stakeholders across the business on a range of transfer pricing matters
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, and external stakeholders (including tax authorities)
  • Take ownership of and manage transfer pricing engagements with tax authorities
  • Assist in global tax matters as it relates to the expansion of the Arch brand
  • Assist with or manage special international tax assignments
