Senior Occupational Therapist - Autism & Intellectual Disability (Dublin) Salary : up to €85,000 DOE | Part-time | Contract Emerald Locums, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join a specialist service in Dublin, supporting children and young people with autism and intellectual disabilities. This part-time contract role offers flexibility, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based, family-centred care. Role Purpose The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide expert assessment and intervention for children and young people with autism and intellectual disabilities. The successful candidate will focus on enabling participation, promoting independence, and supporting families in managing sensory, motor, and functional challenges. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children with autism and intellectual disabilities Develop and implement individualised intervention plans addressing sensory processing, fine / gross motor skills, self-care, and functional independence Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (including SLTs, psychologists, physiotherapists, and social workers) to provide holistic, family-centred support Contribute to autism diagnostic processes and intervention planning where required Provide parent and caregiver training in strategies to support participation and independence at home, school, and in the community Maintain clear and timely clinical records in line with CORU and service standards Participate in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives Supervise and mentor junior staff and students as required Requirements Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy CORU registration (essential) Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, with expertise in autism and intellectual disability services Demonstrated skills in sensory integration, functional skills development, and family-centred practice Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork abilities Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development What's on Offer Competitive salary : up to €85,000 DOE Part-time contract role with flexible working arrangements Opportunity to specialise in autism and intellectual disability services Supportive multidisciplinary team environment Ongoing professional development and CPD support If you are an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist with a passion for autism and intellectual disability services, we would love to hear from you.
