The Assistant Director of Midwifery and Nursing / Designated Midwifery Officer (DMO) will provide leadership and oversight of the community midwifery services and will include the management and support of the wider home birth services by fulfilling the role of Designated Midwife Officer. S / he will work as part of The Rotunda Hospital Senior Midwifery Management Team.
Qualifications and Experience :
Essential :
- Be a registered Midwife & Nurse or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Have a minimum of 7 years post registration experience to include comprehensive midwifery, nursing and managerial experience
- It is desirable that candidates have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, which verifies that the applicant has achieved a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher award maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) or can provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 or higher standard in a health care or management related area.
