Data Protection & Information Officer Maternity Cover - Expected to last until the end of June 2026 - Hybrid (2 days WFH) in Citywest , Dublin 24 - €31.50 per hour - Start Date : ASAP Important Minimum Requirements : Third-level qualification at a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or equivalent A minimum of 3 years of proven experience A full Category B drivers license valid in Ireland We are seeking aData Protection & Information Officer to join our clients' team in Citywest as soon as possible. This is a maternity leave cover position. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients' organisation meets its significant privacy and information compliance obligations. Reporting to the Board Secretariat and Compliance Manager and with a secondary reporting line to the CEO, you will be the key point of contact for all data protection matters. This role requires an in-depth understanding of GDPR, Freedom of Information (FOI) and Access to Information on the Environment (AIE) legislation. Key Responsibilities Inform and advise on data protection obligations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Monitor data processing activities and conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments. Manage FOI and AIE services, ensuring all statutory requirements are met. Act as the primary contact for the Data Protection Commission and manage all data subject access requests and data breaches. Develop and deliver compliance-related training and awareness programs to staff. Champion data retention and records management policies. Essential Requirements A recognised third-level qualification at a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar or relevant role. In-depth knowledge of data protection laws, including GDPR and FOI legislation. A track record of managing and implementing data protection compliance programs. Strong communication and organisational skills with a high attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. A full Category B drivers license valid in Ireland and a willingness to travel to district offices. Desirable Qualifications A qualification in a relevant discipline such as Compliance, Data Protection, Governance, or Legal. Experience with the broad compliance framework that applies to State Agencies. Tenure & Remuneration This is a temporary contract, expected to last until the end of June 2026. €57,500 per annum (€31.50 per hour). The salary is non-negotiable.
