Bellefield Early Years Centre is an inclusive mainstream pre-school in Enniscorthy, which caters for children from 2 years and 6 months old to school going age. Our aim is to support the holistic development of each child while working with families to develop a positive partnership between preschool and home. We provide an environment that is safe and happy, which allows children to express creativity, explore, question, analyse and learn in a fun and stimulating way.
We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Room Leader for our Early Years Service. Please note that this is a Fixed Term contract and will commence in September 2026 and run to June 2027.
Hours of duty:
23.75 hours a week over 41 weeks of the year. Please note that the role could develop into a full time position in the future.
Key Duties:
- To provide a play based curriculum that fosters children's emerging interests, guided by the National Early Years Practice Frameworks Aistear and Siolta
- To provide quality early childhood care and education to all children.
- To guide, observe, stimulate and supervise children in a safe and caring environment.
- To work in close collaboration with the Manager, members of the team and children's families.
- To ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all children in your care.
- To act as the designated person in charge in the Team Leaders absence
- To work closely with the Team Leader of the service to ensure the delivery of childcare and education to the highest standard
- To act as a positive role model and to provide leadership to other staff members

Remuneration:
€16.00 per hour.

Minimum Requirements:
- Essential
- QQI (Fetac) Level 6 in Early Childhood Care & Education Major Award or equivalent (must be listed on the DCEDIY List of Early Years Recognised Qualifications)
- Minimum of three year's experience in an early year's environment
- Currently Eligible to work in Ireland
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Desirable:
- Experience of working with children with disabilities
- QQI (Fetac) Level 7 in Early Childhood Education and Care (or similar as listed on the DCYA recognised list of Early Years Recognised Qualifications).
