- Ideally with Cisco CCNP and / or Fortinet NSE 6
- Day Rate Contract
- Blended work model with our client in Dublin 2
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The principal duties of the Network Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following :
Contribute to and complete relevant project artefacts for large network focused projects (High Level Design, Low Level Design, Change Requests and Acceptance into Service Artefacts).Review project designs and change requests to ensure business requirements have been met and designs are in line with our client’s strategy and standards.Work with third party providers to implement solutions for network projects.Conduct reviews of networks, document ‘as is’ and proposed ‘to be’ scenarios; producing ROM costs; promoting enhanced resilience, security and cost saving.Provide input to the development and promotion of technical standards.Create and maintain Network documentation.Provide Knowledge transfer & training to relevant teams.Provide 3rd level operational network & security support.Note : The functions and responsibilities initially assigned to the position(s) are based on the current organisational requirements and may be changed from time to time.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA :
Each candidate must meet the following requirements at the time of the competition closing :
Have minimum 5 years’ experience working in network architecture & design, security and network operations in large enterprise network environments.Have experience across a wide range of IP network products, technologies, and their associated management systems.Demonstrate involvement or completion of a (1) network related project with successful technical project execution where you had a significant input to the design stage. This would ideally be a design using a mix of multiple vendor components.Demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Cisco Network Switching & Routing, & Fortinet firewalls and Web Application Firewalls.Have experience with Load Balancers, Remote Access, and Web Application Firewall.Have expert knowledge of WAN / LAN technologies and experience with routing protocols, specifically BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and HSRP.Have excellent knowledge and hands on experience of Wireless Technologies and Mobile technologies including Internet of Things (IoT deployments).Have excellent knowledge and hands on experience of AWS and / or Microsoft Azure networking.Have experience working with third party vendorsg. ISPs, Cloud Suppliers and Equipment Suppliers in the Irish Market.Hold certifications in the following : Cisco CCNP, Fortinet NSE 6.Extensive experience working on VPNs and Network Segmentation.Experience & understanding of best practices on network security, design and configuration of : VPNs, ACLs, network segmentation, AAA.DESIREABLE CRITERIA :
The ideal candidate will also have :
Strong troubleshooting skills not just in networks but in overall IT architecture.Experience with Layer2 / portchannels, / spanning-tree / switch administratioExperience with Cisco ISEHold an ITIL certification, minimum Foundation level.Have the ability to work as part of a team and also on their own initiative.Collaborates with third parties involved supporting ICT framework environment, taking account of the interdependencies for the solution proposed across the whole infrastructure (Server and SAN).Have good analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving.Possess good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.Hold a minimum of an NFQ level 6 qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline, being IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.Ability to clearly document and disseminate configuration details.Additional information is available on successful application)
