Instructor Permanent Contract, Full-time 36 hours per week Clash Industrial Estate, Tralee, Co, Kerry Job Purpose The Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programmes.

The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education / employment.

The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of module delivery, co-ordination and facilitation in respect of the Programme.

The Instructor should be able to demonstrate initiative and competencies which enable them to carry out duties with innovation, flair, imagination.

Excellent communication & IT skills, as well as team-working skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of individual training plans; day to day training requirements in accordance with the NLN the training programme specification.

What we're looking for :

• Third level qualification, preferably within the Education / Training sector
• A relevant pedagogical / training qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum
• Proficient IT skills
• A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with learners in educational, guidance and / or developmental contexts
• Experience in working in a mental health related area is an advantage
• Experience in delivering QQI certification and accreditation processes
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills together with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Experience in working on own initiative with a professional and confident approach An ability to motivate learners and to maintain networks with stakeholders and local communities
• The Instructor will take part in all aspects of co-ordination and facilitation in respect of National Learning Network at its Tralee based centre delivering QQI modules Your Responsibilities Assist in the co-ordination, delivery and assessment of QQI modules.

Provide systematic training according to specified curricula; maintain all records required for effective monitoring of the learners' progress; maintaining records of all training in accordance with both internal and external quality standards and producing reports on same, as required.

Mentor learners by example, individual meetings and direct training, to choose the correct timetable, develop and maintain effective work attitudes and behaviours in each learner, and provide learners with adequate and constructive feedback about their progress.

Develop resources appropriate to each accredited module Report to the Centre Manager on all aspects of Programme delivery, learner progress and refer any problems in the field of attendance, health, education, welfare, etc.
