We partner with many of the world's largest life science & technology companies who entrust in us to deliver their most strategic and important projects with our technically Responsibilities : Job Title : Maintenance Controls Technician Industry : Medical Device Manufacturing Summary : We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Maintenance Controls Technician to join our maintenance team.
You will be a key frontline resource, responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining our automated manufacturing equipment.
Your primary mission is to ensure equipment runs smoothly and reliably, minimizing downtime while adhering to the strict safety and quality standards of the medical device industry (GMP, ISO 13485).
Key Responsibilities Frontline Troubleshooting : Act as the first responder to automation-related faults on the production floor, diagnosing issues with PLCs, HMIs, robots, and vision systems.
Preventative Maintenance : Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on control systems, including sensor calibration, component replacement, and system backups.
Repair & Resolution : Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on automated machinery to resolve faults efficiently.
System Support : Make minor edits and adjustments to PLC / HMI code for fault recovery and basic optimisation, working under the guidance of Controls Engineers.
Documentation : Accurately document all maintenance activities, faults, and resolutions in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Collaboration : Escalate complex or recurring issues to the Controls Engineering team and collaborate effectively to implement permanent solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills Education : A Certificate, Diploma, or Senior / Advanced Craft Certificate in an electrical, electronic, automation, or mechatronics-related field.
A completed apprenticeship is highly desirable.
Experience : Hands-on maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical) is a significant advantage.
PLC Troubleshooting : Strong hands-on ability to connect to, diagnose, and troubleshoot PLC systems Technical Aptitude : Familiarity with robotics, servo drives, and vision systems is a major plus.
A strong mechanical aptitude is also required.
Problem-Solving : A logical approach to troubleshooting with the ability to work effectively under pressure to get production lines running.
