Merative is seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to drive interest in demand for Zelta, our advanced clinical trial platform. In this role, you will engage with prospective clients across the life sciences industry to identify research and operational challenges and convert early interest into qualified sales opportunities. Your efforts will directly support the adoption of Zelta’s robust solutions, which enable faster, smarter, and more efficient clinical trials. As an SDR, you will follow up on inbound leads and conduct targeted outbound outreach to uncover opportunities with CROs, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device companies.
Responsibilities
Respondpromptly and professionallyto inbound marketing leadsand inquiries, executingmarketing-qualified lead follow-up and nurturecampaigns to educate early-stage prospectsandtransition them into qualified leads for the sales team
Conduct outbound prospecting throughcold calls, emails, and socialoutreach, using personalized outreach togenerate initial interestand build pipeline
Work jointly with sales toconductdiscovery calls,uncoverprospect pain points,assess alignment with Zelta’s platform, and drive in-person client meetings
Use a proactive and strategic sales approach to develop creative, personalized outreachtechniquesthat deepen engagementand drive interestin Zelta
Maintainaccurateclient andprospectdata(interactions, activities, and lead progression)dailyin Salesforce.com and SalesLoft
Meet or exceed monthly / quarterlytargetedobjectives, includingnumber ofleadsand opportunitiescreated,andprogressionofopportunities(noticed,identified,validated, and qualified)
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Zelta’s clinical trial solution business, competitivelandscapeand industry trends
Identifyand research potential clients to build andmaintaina list oftargeted accounts andqualified leads.
Basic Qualifications(minimumrequirements needed to perform this job)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales / outbound sales
Interest in clinical research and healthcare technology, particularly platforms supporting clinical trial execution and analytics
Coachable, resilient, and intellectually curiousmind-set
Excellent communication and listening skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational, critical thinking, and presentation skills. Exhibits a growth mindset by continuously evolving skills and sales approaches
Motivated bysales and interested in healthcare technology, particularlyin life sciences andclinical trials
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote work environment
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office 365 and comfort using video conferencing tools for internal and client communication
Preferred Skills
Experience in life sciences, healthcare IT, or clinical research technology
Previoususe and experiencewith Salesforce.com, ZoomInfo, and SalesLoft
Proven ability to quickly understand a prospect’s business needs and personalize outreachto each prospectaccordingly
Track recordof consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets or KPIs
Education Requirements & Work Environment
Bachelor’s degree
Clinical research or healthcare certifications a plus but notrequired
Home office that allows you to work efficiently and without disruption
Occasional travel (3–4 times per year) for team events, sales meetings, or client engagements may berequired
Compensation
The salary range provided in this job posting is intended to reflect the general market value for the position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific requirements of the role. This range may also be subject to change as market conditions evolve. We encourage open communication throughout the interview process to discuss compensation expectations. For base-salary + commission sales roles, the range represents On-Target Earnings.
