Need help to patch a hole in living room wall

Hi, I have a medium-sized hole in my living room wall that needs to be properly patched and painted over. The wall is plasterboard, and I want the repair to be smooth and blend in well with the existing paint. Ideally, someone experienced with wall repairs and finishing would be great.
