Staff Grade or Senior Speech & Language Therapist - Acute Hospital Services (West Dublin) Salary : €70,000 - €80,000 DOE | Full-time | Permanent Emerald Locums, on behalf of our client, is recruiting a Staff Grade or Senior Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) with proven acute hospital experience, particularly in stroke rehabilitation and dysphagia management, to join the Acute Services team in West Dublin. This is a permanent, full-time role offering excellent career development and the opportunity to make a real difference in patient recovery and outcomes. Role Purpose The successful candidate will deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services across acute care, with a focus on communication and swallowing disorders in patients recovering from stroke and other complex conditions. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care. Key Responsibilities Deliver specialist assessment and intervention for patients with stroke-related communication and swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) Contribute actively to MDT ward rounds, case conferences, and rehabilitation planning Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and care plans tailored to individual patient needs Provide education, training, and support to patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with hospital and CORU standards Participate in service development, quality improvement projects, and audit to enhance care delivery Supervise and mentor junior SLTs and student placements as required Requirements Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy CORU registration (essential) Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience, with significant acute hospital exposure Demonstrated expertise in stroke and dysphagia management Strong interpersonal, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development What's on Offer Competitive salary : €70,000 - €80,000 DOE Permanent, full-time contract within a leading acute service Opportunity to develop advanced skills in stroke and dysphagia management Supportive multidisciplinary team environment Career progression and CPD opportunities If you are a motivated Speech & Language Therapist with a passion for acute hospital care, we would love to hear from you.
