Procurement Assistant

You will play a vital role within the procurement team, directly responsible for sourcing components and raw materials. In this position, you will use systems to procure component parts that meet key customer requirements, following established procurement and inventory management processes. This includes adhering to business rules governing lot sizes, lead times and other order parameters. You will also respond promptly to changes in customer specifications, order quantities or delivery schedules. Additionally, in this role you will contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes and information systems. Responsibilities Purchase components to meet customer forecasts and P.O.s for packaged products. Monitor inventory and place additional orders as needed. Manage high value purchasing contracts and obtain required approvals. Ensure on-time delivery, expedite overdue or urgent orders and communicate cost impacts. Re-plan orders based on customer changes. Negotiate pricing and monitor material status. Support vendor setup in salesforce and document order changes with business Units. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve service levels. Perform other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager. Requirements Experience in purchasing, supply chain or a similar area. Strong mathematical ability. Intermediate computer proficiency with various programs. High reasoning skills to solve practical problems and interpret diverse instructions. Preferred Competencies Sound judgment and decision-making ability. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently or as part of a team.
