Job description

Job Title : Electrical Project Manager – Data Centre Project

Location : Belgium

Relocation from : Ireland (EU citizen – no work permit required)

Contract Type : Permanent

3 : 1 Rotation - 1 week off per month

Role Overview :   As an Electrical Project Manager , you will lead the delivery of electrical systems for large-scale data centre construction projects in Belgium. You will manage the planning, coordination, and execution of the electrical scope, working closely with general contractors, MEP consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.

You will ensure project milestones are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Scheduling

Develop and manage electrical project schedules aligned with overall construction timelines.

  • Coordinate design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Site Management & Supervision

    • Oversee the on-site electrical installation teams and subcontractors.

  • Ensure compliance with Belgian safety standards and client requirements (e.g. ISO, IEC, NEN standards).
  • Technical Oversight

    • Manage LV / MV / HV systems (Low, Medium, High Voltage), switchgear, UPS systems, generators, fire alarm, and BMS systems.

  • Review electrical designs and ensure coordination with mechanical and civil disciplines.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication

    • Act as the primary electrical contact for clients, design teams, and contractors.

  • Lead regular project meetings and progress updates in English.
  • Cost Control & Procurement

    • Manage electrical budgets, variations, and procurement of materials and equipment.

  • Review supplier and subcontractor invoices and approve payments as appropriate.
  • Quality Assurance & Handover

    • Ensure all installations are tested and commissioned to required specifications.

  • Lead final inspections and handover documentation.

    • Key Requirements

  • Qualifications :

    • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) beneficial.
  • Experience :

    • 5+ years managing electrical packages in large commercial or industrial projects.

  • At least 2 years working in data centre , hyperscale , or mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with EU building regulations and international electrical standards.
  • Skills :

    • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specs, and schematics.
  • Other :

    • EU citizenship (e.g. Irish passport) – no visa or work permit required.

  • Willingness to relocate to Belgium and work on-site as needed.
