About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civils Quantity Surveyor to take a leading commercial role across major civil engineering and infrastructure projects in Ireland. This is a key position within the commercial team, with responsibility for managing project finances, mentoring junior QS staff, and ensuring strong commercial performance from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management on large-scale civils projects (roads, utilities, earthworks, structures, site development, or water services).
• Manage cost planning, forecasting, and detailed budget control.
• Oversee preparation of valuations, variations, interim payments, and final accounts.
• Conduct contract reviews and ensure compliance with Public Works Contracts, NEC, or similar forms.
• Lead procurement strategy and negotiate subcontractor and supplier packages.
• Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options to enhance project performance.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate QS team members.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering QS roles, with proven senior-level delivery.
• Strong commercial and contractual expertise across Irish civils and infrastructure sectors.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider commercial strategy.
• Proficiency in measurement, estimating software, and industry-standard tools.
