Overview

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Store Person & Grounds Keeper to join our team at Newtown Park Hotel in Wexford.

This dual role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of hotel supplies and the presentation of our grounds.

You will be responsible for managing stock, deliveries, and inventory while also maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel's outdoor areas.

Responsibilities

Store Person Duties :

Receive and check all deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality of goods.

Store Person Duties :

Safely store and rotate stock following proper procedures (FIFO).

Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or digital systems.

Liaise with department heads regarding stock levels and ordering needs.

Ensure storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Assist in stock takes and audits as required.

Report any stock discrepancies or damaged goods promptly.

Grounds Keeping Duties :

Maintain the hotel's gardens, lawns, car parks, bin yard, and walkways to a high standard.

Ensure the bin yard is clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and waste management standards.

Grounds Keeping Duties :

Carry out regular inspections of outdoor areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Manage waste disposal and recycling around the premises.

Assist with minor outdoor repairs and seasonal decorations (e.g., Christmas lights).

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role preferred.

Knowledge of gardening and basic maintenance tasks.

Physically fit and capable of manual handling.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills.

Familiarity with health & safety practices in both storekeeping and grounds maintenance.

Valid driver's license (advantageous).
