Job Description

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for domestic and overseas candidates across hospitals, nursing homes, home care and community care settings.

We are hiring a Staff Nurse for our client hospital in Galway, Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the nursing team on day duty and carry out duties as assigned by the Clinical Nurse Manager 2.
  

• Provide skilled nursing care and participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised patient care, ensuring a patient-centred approach.
  

• Recognise the diverse needs of patients and provide holistic support to patients and their families.
  

• Maintain controlled drug records in accordance with recognised legal and professional standards.
  

• Ensure the safe storage and administration of medications in line with hospital policies, Department of Health requirements and NMBI guidelines, prioritising patient and staff safety.
  

• Supervise the nursing practice of less experienced team members and contribute to their professional development and education.
  

• Provide holistic care and support to emergency, medical and surgical patients, taking into account their individual needs.
  

• Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date patient records and written reports in accordance with NMBI recommendations.
  

• Ensure the appropriate and economical use of unit stock and materials, and the safe and correct operation of all equipment.
  

• Ensure patients' belongings are safeguarded in accordance with hospital policy, where required.
  

Requirements

• Be registered or eligible to register in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  

• Have at least 2 years post registration experience - ideally
