Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant We are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our clients, a long-established logistics company finance team based in North Dublin. This is a varied role covering accounts payable, banking, credit control, VAT and year-end accounts, with responsibility for supporting and managing a small finance team. Key Responsibilities Oversee supplier invoice processing, statement reconciliations and payment runs. Manage day-to-day banking activities, including cash flow forecasting. Oversee the credit control function and support the Credit Control team. Prepare and submit VAT returns and liaise with the Revenue Commissioners. Assist with accounts preparation and year-end processes, including working with external auditors. Support a team of 34 finance staff. Maintain accurate financial records and provide general support to the Financial Controller. Requirements Strong experience in accounts payable and general accounting. Experience with banking and cash flow forecasting. Previous credit control experience, ideally with team oversight. Good knowledge of VAT returns and Revenue processes. Experience with accounts preparation and year-end audit. Strong Microsoft Office and financial systems skills. Previous experience managing or supervising a small team. Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
